What is Nutritional Therapy?
Nutritional Therapy is an integrative, science based healthcare approach to maximising one’s health potential through individually formulated nutritional and lifestyle changes. It promotes the benefits of nutrient dense, wholesome, unprocessed foods for optimal well being, as well as emphasising the therapeutic effects of particular foods for specific health conditions. Food supplements may also be recommended where appropriate to over come deficiencies or make up dietary shortfalls.
Nutritional Therapy is a client centred approach that addresses the whole
person rather than an isolated set of symptoms. A Nutritional Therapist spends time with their client forming a therapeutic relationship, listening to their health history and treating the body’s systems as a complex web of interconnections while examining the underlying causes of symptoms and triggers of dysfunction. Nutritional Therapy embraces biochemical individuality. It works on the basis that we are individual in our make-up and therefore the ‘one size fits all’ model of eating (often based on outdated research) simply does not work well for most people.

How do I get started?
Before the Consultation
After you initially make contact with me you will receive a comprehensive questionnaire and a three day food diary for completion on eating habits, lifestyle, medical history and your current health concerns. This can then be returned to me via email or post one week before our initial consultation. A deposit of €65 is required to secure your booking.
During the Consultation
The initial consultation typically take around 90 minutes. We will spend the first half of the consultation filling in any gaps in your medical history, identifying underlying issues including nutrient deficiencies and physiological imbalances. During the second half of the consultation, I will explain my findings and help you gain an understanding of your health journey and the clinical imbalances contributing to your current health concerns. From there, together we will do some goal setting and based on your time constraints, finances and cooking skills we will negotiate some action steps to help you reach your goals.
After the Consultation
- You will receive your personalised recommendations within 72 hours of our consultation.
- A summary of what we discussed during the session.
- Recipes, meal suggestions and lifestyle plan.
- Phone support upon starting your recommendations to make sure you get off to a good start!
